This role is essential in ensuring that animals receive high-quality medical care, thorough health evaluations, and appropriate treatments. The RVT will support both in-house animals and spay/neuter clinic patients through medical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.

This role is essential in ensuring that animals receive high-quality medical care, thorough health evaluations, and appropriate treatments. The RVT will support both in-house animals and spay/neuter clinic patients through medical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical exams and administer vaccinations.
- Restrain animals safely for exams, treatment, and procedures.
- Calculate, prepare, and administer medications, including pre-anesthetic and anesthetic drugs.
- Induce and monitor anesthesia; assist veterinarians during surgery.
- Perform laboratory procedures (microscopy, blood analysis, dental machine use).
- Provide dental care including prophylaxis, extractions, and suturing (experience required).
- Maintain accurate medical records and controlled substance logs.
- Ensure proper admitting and discharge of animals for both public and shelter services.
- Support emergency medical care when needed.
- Euthanize and/or assist with euthanasia per established protocols.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-stocked work environment.
- Supervise and guide volunteers as needed.
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification from an accredited program (required).
- High school diploma or GED; one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Demonstrated proficiency in veterinary dental procedures, including extractions and suturing (required).
- Strong ability to manage the emotional aspects of end-of-life services and support others in high-stress situations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check upon hire.
