Position Overview:
This role involves assisting in the design and development of printed circuit boards, electronic chassis, wire and cable harnessing, and structured cabling systems, as well as overseeing documentation, procurement, fabrication, and testing to ensure optimal system performance.
This position requires hands-on experience in assembling and troubleshooting integrated electronic equipment, a strong background in electronics or electrical engineering, and proactive problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical solutions, mentoring team members, and ensuring the efficient and reliable implementation of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design of electronic systems, including printed circuit boards, electronic chassis, and wire/cable harnessing, while adhering to electrical, mechanical, and thermal constraints.
  • Assist in designing and installing structured cabling and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical requirements (voltage, current, grounding, etc.).
  • Test and troubleshoot electronic systems and components both on the bench and in the field.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of experimental systems, conducting tests and selecting reliable components.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with organizational goals, safety standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Coordinate with electricians and technicians for electronics and cabling assembly and installation.
  • Maintain necessary qualifications (e.g., Qualified Electrical Worker) and adhere to electrical safety practices (LOTO, NFPA 70E).
  • Use procurement systems to acquire electronic equipment while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
Additional Responsibilities as needed:
  • Utilize advanced tools such as cable testers, VNAs, TDRs, OTDRs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and HiPot testers.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineering associates.
  • Supervise personnel as required and contribute to various projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong foundation in electronics design, testing, and troubleshooting, with expertise in circuits, wiring, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Experience in PCB manufacturing and layout design using Xpedition, PADS, or KiCAD.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical diagrams.
  • Expertise in structured cabling, fiber optic networks, and system integration.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, OrCAD, KiCAD) and mechanical modeling.
  • Experience with database management, PLM tools, and QA workflows.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, and related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electrical power distribution, large electromagnets, and water monitoring systems.
  • Ability to draft mechanical models.
  • Relevant technical certifications.
  • Knowledge of networking hardware and protocols.
